Housing

In order to meet the different requirements of our students, Lingua & Praktika offers 4 different kinds of accommodations. You decide what best fits your individual needs and wishes.

Host family

A Mexican host family is the best vehicle to achieve complete immersion in a country and its culture. The accommodation in a Mexican family enables you to get in close contact with locals and to immediately practice your new Spanish knowledges gained in your intensive Spanish course. This way you will not only make "touristic experiences" but also participate actively in the inter cultural exchange.

The “L&P Families” have been carefully selected and count with a high standard that is regularly been secured. The selection criteria are the setting of the house, the personal contact to the family, access to public transportation, the location of the house in safe and secure residential areas.

We will gladly consider special wishes concerning your host family, like vegetarian meals or allergies to pets, if required. We always do our best effort in order to place you in a host family in the near of your internship place.

“L&P Families” stands for a brand name that refers to a family environment, not necessarily meaning: mother, father, children and a dog. It could also refer to a couple without kids, or "empty nest" families that enjoy hosting young people and the interaction with different cultures. Respective tolerance and thoughtfulness are important conditions for having a great time in a host family.

It is very important for us that you feel comfortable in your host family and that both parties benefit from the "exchange". It is common that families foster life long friendships, because as it is said: “You’ll always come back to the "White City" Mérida!" And it is the kindness and hospitality of its people that generates that effect.

Alternative A: Host family/ single room

In your Mexican host family you will have your own private room. The alternative of living in a host family taking care of their own meals is the ideal solution for students who do an internship of several weeks and are out of the house "all day" or who prefer to prepare their own meals.

Alternative B: Host family/single room/half board

In your Mexican host family you will have your own private room and have two meals* a day included. The alternative of living in a host family with half board is the ideal solution for students who come here to do an internship or who just come to take an intensive Spanish course

* in case that you would like to upgrade to for full pension, please contact the L&P team.

Apartment

Due to increasing requests from your students we now offer private apartments as alternative to living in a host family. The apartments such as the host families are being carefully selected by the L&P team and all count with a high standard. The selection criteria are the setting of the apartment, access to public transportation, the location of the house in safe and secure residential areas with an appropriate infrastructure (supermarket, spare time activity e.g. in the near). In order to meet the different requirements of your students we offer apartments in two categories.

Alternative C: Private apartment standard

The standard apartment is functionally equipped and is the ideal accommodation for a "long-term intern" (3 months +) with average demands. Here you have your own private residence. You lead an independent life and take care of yourself.

Alternative D: Private apartment comfort

The comfort apartment is spacious and fully equipped. It is the ideal accommodation for a "long-term intern" (3 months +) with exalted demands. Here you have your own private residence. You lead an independent life and take care of yourself.
